New EU-wide entry procedure: Entry/Exit System (EES)
In the European Union (EU), a new digital entry and exit system, the Entry/Exit System (EES), has been operational since October 12, 2025. If you wish to visit Vienna and are not an EU citizen, this system may affect you. The electronic travel authorization procedure ETIAS is due to follow in autumn 2026.
