Dear exhibitor,

We have provided you with the individual stand drawings displaying your company name in the last few days. Please check these drawings make sure that everything is correct. Below you will find detailed information on the topics of stand construction guidelines and fire protection. Please read our information on these topics carefully. The requirements must be observed when planning your trade show appearance. It is therefore essential that you also pass them on to your stand constructor.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION on stand construction

Technical Guidelines

The “Technical Guidelines” of the MOC Event Center Messe München apply and must always be observed. You can view the guidelines at any time in the >>> Exhibition Configurator >> Fact sheets > “Technical Guidelines”.

Below you will find excerpts from the Technical Guidelines together with additional information:

General stand approval information

The maximum construction height in the halls is four metres (this does not apply to the areas next to the hall entrances, where the maximum construction height is 2.50 metres). Based on the assumption that exhibitors will comply with the Technical Guidelines when designing and building their stands, exhibitors are not required to submit sketches for the approval of plans in the case of single-storey stand constructions in the halls. All other stand constructions, especially stands with a base measuring more than 100 sqm, horizontal stand covers measuring 30 sqm or more, mobile stands, stands with bridges, stairs and steps, cantilever roofs, galleries or slanted walls, and outdoor constructions, must be approved. The side of this higher construction facing neighbouring stands (the visible reverse side) must remain a neutral white colour and not display any promotional elements. Any advertising facing directly neighbouring stands must be at least one metre away from the edge of the stand. The use of flashing or alternating lights on advertising displays is not permitted.

For the approval of plans, dimensioned stand layouts, view drawings and cross-sectional view drawings must be submitted to the MOC Veranstaltungen department (MOC events department) of the company Messe München GmbH. Emergency and escape routes must be shown in a separate plan.

Areas in the halls:

Dimensioned stand plans for single-storey stand constructions with a base measuring more than 100 sqm or a horizontal stand cover measuring 30 sqm or more must be submitted to the MOC Veranstaltungen department (MOC events department) for approval by the deadline specified in the order documents for exhibitor services at the latest. Stand layouts and view drawings must be drawn to a scale of at least 1:100. Once approval has been granted, a copy of the plan will be marked as approved by Messe München GmbH and returned to the exhibitor / stand constructor. The exhibitor / stand constructor is then permitted to build the stand.

Atriums and showrooms:

Dimensioned stand plans for all exhibitor areas in the atriums and showrooms must be submitted to the MOC Veranstaltungen department (MOC events department) for approval by the deadline specified in the order documents for exhibitor services at the latest.

The maximum construction height in the showrooms of Atriums 3 and 4 on the first and second floor and Studio E/F depends on the ceiling height of the area concerned. Constructions must be at least 60 cm below the ceiling.

For the showrooms on the second floor, which have a sloping ceiling, this means that a continuous construction height of 2.40 metres can be planned from the last sprinkler before the roof overhang. Towards the entrance, the construction height can be increased in accordance with the increasing ceiling height while maintaining a minimum distance of 60 cm from the ceiling.

Minimal deviations apply in the case of showrooms F203, F205 and F206. For specific information, please contact the MOC team. You can contact the MOC team via telephone at +49 89 32353401.

Inspection and approval of constructions requiring authorisation

Every event organiser, exhibitor, hiring party, service partner or other service provider is required to check whether their planned provisional fixtures or structures require authorisation – regardless of whether they are located in the halls, atriums, showrooms, conference rooms or outdoors. If in doubt, please contact the MOC Veranstaltungen department (MOC events department).

Please send your plans via e-mail directly to the MOC:
E-mail: moc.orders@messe-muenchen.de

The latest possible deadline for the submission of all plans is 5th April 2024.

Please label all plans clearly so that they can be reliably assigned to you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION on fire protection/material specifications

In addition to the generally applicable information provided in the information sheets on fire protection, you will also find the “Fire protection registration” form in the online Exhibition Configurator. This form must be submitted for stand constructions, systems, equipment, installations or activities that must be reported or require approval and/or authorisation.

As a general rule, the use of materials that are easily ignited, form burning droplets, release toxic gases or produce large amounts of smoke or soot, for example most thermoplastic plastics, including polystyrene (expanded polystyrene), is not permitted under any circumstances at exhibition stands.

Decorative and ornamental materials (such as banners, flags, roll-up banners, etc.) must be classified as at least flame-resistant (Class B1), without burning droplets and, in accordance with DIN 4102-1, with limited smoke development or, in accordance with EN 13501-1, as at least Class C (C -s2, d0).

A general building-control appraisal certificate from a recognised testing, certification and monitoring association regarding the building material class of the decorative materials used must be kept available (cf. >>> Exhibition Configurator >> Fact Sheets > “Certified Testing Laboratories for Material Fire Testing”).

The appraisal certificate must be submitted in German (official language). Appraisal certificates in English will only be accepted in exceptional cases.

You are required to guarantee visual contact between the internal space and the corridor, aisle or atrium at all times. The doors or windows of the middle row must therefore remain free of any stickers or branding material. Where applicable, layouts must be approved by the City Fire Department. If these rules are not observed, stickers and printed material will be removed at your expense. Solutions that comply with fire protection regulations can be booked via the online Exhibition Configurator (for example under “Signage Atrium Rooms”).

You are not permitted to display any decorative material such as banners, flags, roll-up banners, decorations or items of furniture outside your room/stand.

Please ensure that the marked routes remain unobstructed throughout the installation and assembly period. You can find a corresponding plan under >>> Exhibition Configurator >> Fact Sheets > “Factsheet Fire Protection Set Up Time”.

Emergency exits are marked and must be kept free at all times with no exceptions. This rule applies to the entire width of the emergency exits without exception. The emergency exit signs must remain clearly visible at all times and are not permitted to be covered. Where applicable, additional signs showing the way to the emergency exit should be added to the stand area.

Sprinkler systems must be certified by the technical inspection centre VdS and be mounted with metal cable ties or Spannfix bungee cords that are flame-resistant in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1: B-s1, d0 or classified as Class B1 in accordance with DIN 4102-1.

Fire loads (packaging material, wooden crates, pallets etc.) are not permitted to be stored at the stand or in the room. For storage services, please contact the forwarding company Schenker, which can be found in the delivery zone behind the halls (Spedition Schenker at the MOC: +49 89 3241125).

You are permitted to keep a daily supply of advertising material at your stand / in your room.

You can view the “Technical Guidelines” of the MOC Event Center Messe München and the above-mentioned documents at any time in our online Exhibition Configurator: Exhibition Configurator
