TIP for our Munich audience:

In addition to the mobility providers Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) and Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Westbahn GmbH offers train connections from various German and Austrian cities to Vienna. Travelers from Munich Central Station (Hbf) can reach Vienna Westbahnhof in just four hours. As with many other providers, early bookings benefit from lower prices.
